Suad Huskić, a member of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA), has served as the mayor of the Tešanj municipality for over a decade. In the most recent local elections in 2024, he secured his fourth consecutive term, winning twice as many votes as his two challengers combined.
In 2021, Huskić and his wife Alma purchased a 50-square-metre apartment in the Miljacka residential complex in Sarajevo. In the asset declaration submitted to the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CIK BiH) in 2024, he stated that his share of the apartment is worth 40,000 BAM.
“I estimated half the value based on the price we paid—my wife and I each bought a 50% share under the contract, which was worth 80,000 BAM at the time,” Huskić told reporters.

A year later, his wife bought another apartment in the same complex, this time 27 square metres in size, for 85,000 BAM. He also owns a parking space in Sarajevo, which he says he purchased together with his wife.
In Tešanj, Huskić co-owns an inherited house with a yard and land, which he shares with his mother and values at 125,000 BAM. He also declared savings of 12,000 BAM and a debt of 18,700 BAM related to a business loan.
In 2023, he obtained a licence from the Regulatory Commission for Energy in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FERK) to produce electricity at a small-scale facility named Foton. The installation is located on the roof of his family home and an auxiliary building. Its estimated value is 3,000 BAM, with a declared income of 5,000 BAM for 2024.
“The initial investment was higher, but essentially it falls under business operations rather than company capital,” Huskić explained. “It’s just a solar installation located on our private home—there are 50 to 60 solar panels on the roof of our family house.”
His monthly salary from the municipality is approximately 4,160 BAM.
In 2024, his wife Alma earned an annual salary of 18,500 BAM. She also reported an additional 3,000 BAM in rental income from leasing an apartment in Sarajevo, and owns a Volkswagen Passat valued at 10,000 BAM. She has a loan of 50,000 BAM, which, according to Suad Huskić, was used to purchase real estate.
Suad Huskić obtained his undergraduate and postgraduate education at the Pedagogical Academy and the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Sarajevo. In 2012, he earned a Master’s degree in Economics from the Faculty of Economics in Zenica.
He began his professional career at a primary school in Jablanica, where he gained ten years of work experience. He later served as a municipal councillor and chairman of the Tešanj Municipal Council. Since 2005, he has worked in the Tešanj municipal administration as an assistant to the mayor, responsible for social services, general administration, utilities, and other areas.
He was first elected mayor in 2012. He has been a member of the SDA since reaching adulthood. He is currently a member of the SDA’s Main Board and serves as the head of the party’s Commission in Tešanj.
