Azhar Kalamujić, an award winning reporter with Oslobođenje, has been named editor in chief of the Center for Investigative Reporting in Sarajevo (CIN) in a recent action by the Center’s board. Kalamujić has named Dino Jahić as his deputy editor.
Kalamujić had been with CIN almost three years and Jahić two years.
Kalamujić, who started his career with Oslobođenje, has over 15 years experience in journalism specializing in the investigation of corruption and organized crime.
He won the 2000 and 2002 Oslobođenje awards for his stories about organized crime, customs fraud and corruption in government agencies and public companies.
Jahić, who came to CIN from TV Hayat, has shown his investigative skills with stories he wrote on financial fraud, the state of football in BiH and illicit trade in drugs since he joined the Center.
CIN is a media organization founded in 2004 and committed to investigative reporting. Since its inception, it has received a number of awards for its work including the 2007 Global Shining Light for its work with the Organized Crime and Corruption Project and the Online Journalism Award for small investigative websites.

It continued, ‘Over the years, Kalamujić has exemplified CIN’s high standards for fair and accurate reporting. We look forward to the work by him and the talented reporters who have dedicated themselves to this difficult work.’
The CIN board also confirmed the appointment of Leila Bičakčić as CIN Director. Bičakčić had been managing director.
