Member of the Federation Parliament Salmir Kaplan sold the apartment he bought at a preferential price from the institutions of the Sarajevo Canton. This transaction has earned him nearly BAM 20,000. CIN previously wrote that, although he had an apartment in Sarajevo, he received almost BAM 25,000 from the budget for accommodation.
Before taking the position of the first man of East Sarajevo, Ljubiša Ćosić worked as an economic analyst, educator, and advisor for nearly a decade. In this town he has an apartment worth BAM 180,000, and he drives a car worth BAM 76,000.
Member of the National Parliament Nermin Mandra has held various positions in public companies and institutions at all levels of government for more than two decades. During that period, he obtained two apartments, a weekend house, an expensive car, and 55,000 BAM in savings.
Due to vague rules on expropriation, in Brčko District, private needs are being satisfied and land is being taken away to build access roads to the houses of politicians and voters, all under the guise of public interest.
This year, the citizens of BiH are paying almost BAM 1.5 million for the “post-term severance” of the 81 city and municipal officials. Nearly every second of them resumed their term or job in their own company for which they are paid.

During the past decade, almost BAM 440 thousand was paid as retirement severance to fifteen BiH politicians in three state institutions. However, most of them continued working and receiving salaries in addition to their retirement benefits.
In the last four years, the disciplinary commissions of the HJPC BiH acquitted 12 judges and prosecutors of the disciplinary liability, while in one case they did not even conduct the disciplinary proceedings.
The CIN “Politicians’ Assets” database contains data on revenues and movable and immovable property of 15 mayors and city mayors elected in the 2020 Local Elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
For the past 20 years, three former judges of the Municipal Court in Lukavac have occupied apartments illegally paid with taxpayer contributions. No one has been punished because the statute of limitations expired in the case.
Members of the national Parliament and the FBiH House of Peoples blew an opportunity to trim their salary and thereby contribute these savings to the fight against COVID-19. Only the MPs from the FBiH House of Representatives adopted the initiative. No such motion in Republika Srpska was even proposed.
High ranked politicians continue to conceal their property by ignoring the law which mandates that they must declare to relevant institutions everything they own.
