In mid-2024, Sabina Ćudić, a rep of Naša stranka in the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina, purchased a house and land in Počitelj, near Čapljina, together with her brother’s wife. They paid BAM 200,000 for the 646-square-meter property.
“This is a housing loan with a 10-year repayment period. It’s a loan for joint ownership with my brother’s family to buy an old stone ruin in Herzegovina, a house that requires restoration”, Ćudić explained to a CIN journalist.
Two years earlier, she purchased an apartment in the Sarajevo municipality Centar for BAM 435,000. She explained that the property was bought with funds from the sale of her previous apartment and a loan.
In the asset declaration she submitted to the Central Election Commission of BiH in 2022, she reported an annual income of BAM 40,000 earned from her position in the Federation Parliament. In the State Parliament, her monthly salary is approximately BAM 5,700. Ćudić did not list any savings in her declaration: “I don’t have any savings, to be completely honest.”
According to the asset declaration, her husband, actor Alban Ukaj, earns an annual salary of BAM 20,400, along with an additional BAM 50,000 KM in acting fees. He also owns a 2015 Opel Astra valued at BAM 10,000.
Ćudić has served as a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe for two years. She does not receive a salary for this role, but is entitled to daily allowances for the sessions, which are held four times a year and last five days each: “I believe the total amount of the daily allowances for the session period is around BAM 650.
Political Career
Ćudić earned a degree in Political Science and International Relations from Towson University in the USA, followed by a master’s in Human Rights and Democracy from the University of Sarajevo and the University of Bologna. From 2009 to 2013, she worked at the Sarajevo School of Science and Technology, where she served as an assistant and later as a senior assistant at the Faculty of Political Science and International Relations.
In 2012, Naša Stranka nominated her for the position of mayor of Novo Sarajevo Municipality, but she did not win the election. Two years later, she was elected as a representative in the Sarajevo Canton Assembly. She later served as a representative in the House of Representatives of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. After winning a mandate in the BiH Parliament, she also became a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. In January 2025, she was appointed as the rapporteur for Georgia in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
She is a member of the Presidency of Naša Stranka, having previously served as the party’s vice president and president of its Main Board.
