The Dubrovnik Municipal Court began the witness hearing in the fraud trial of suspended police officer Zoran Čegar.
SIPA detained the former director of KCUS Faris Gavrankapetanović, the employee of this health institution Muvedeta Čedić and the former Prime Minister Fikret Musić, and Sarajevo Canton Health Minister Zlatko Vuković. The Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor’s Office suspects them of public procurement malfeasance in 2011 and 2012.
The role of civil society organizations in the preparation and execution of the budget and the prevention of misuse of public money and increasing budget transparency were the topics discussed at the round table organized by CIN with the partner organizations GEA from Banja Luka and Futura from Mostar.
FBiH delegate Jasenko Tufekčić pleaded guilty to fraud in office and forging of documents, for which he was sentenced to eight months in prison. Proceedings against him were initiated after CIN discovered that he was abusing transportation allowance and per diems.
Legislator of the FBiH Parliament Jasenko Tufekčić has been accused of abusing travel compensation perks, which CIN wrote about five years ago.
The feature by CIN journalists Jelena Jevtić and Mubarek Asani on ITABiH inspectors of Indirect Taxation Authority of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ITA BiH) racketeering shopowners and the feature by Adna Zilić on irregular purchase of police uniforms won the first and third prize of the EU Investigative Journalism Award.
The official biography of state MP Dragan Bogdanić says that he completed his cardiology subspecialty in 2006, however, he received this title only three years later. After CIN’s writing about him not declaring in the asset declaration form the house in Belgrade he submitted documents showing that it was his father Novak who built the house on his land.
Many domestic and international organizations sought a reaction from the domestic authorities regarding the threats and insults Zoran Čegar, one of the heads of the FBiH Police Administration, directed at CIN reporters. The authorities were called to protect journalists from attacks. The threats were reported to the police and the prosecutor’s office.
After CIN’s report, attacks on journalists, and great pressure from the public, one of the heads of the FBiH Police Administration (FUP) was suspended.
Deputy BiH Chief Prosecutor Diana Kajmaković suspended after the U.S. Government blacklisted her due to her affiliation with criminal organizations.
A request is filed to place under suspension the Head of the FBIH PA Uniformed Police Division due to threats to journalists, falsifying documents, and a fraud indictment.
The Municipal Court in Dubrovnik started the trial of Zoran Čegar, head of the FBiH Uniformed Police Division for the criminal offense of fraud, which CIN wrote about before.
